Job Description
ECT seeks a Director of Finance to lead the accounting functions of the organization, oversee financial policies and procedures, and support current and future growth strategies. This position reports to the CEO and plays a significant role on the firm’s leadership team. The Director of Finance will manage all aspects of the financial services department including the individuals and teams responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger, and payroll.
As a majority ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) organization, the Director of Finance plays an instrumental role, along with other company stakeholders, in ensuring the obligations of that plan are managed and achieved alongside the daily financial operations of the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Develops and maintains benchmarks used to measure the company’s performance.
- Participates in development of the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on cash flow related to funding growth strategies.
- Works with external auditors in a timely, professional manner to complete annual audits.
- Oversee and facilitate corporate tax responsibilities.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Manage employees and expectations associated with the financial services team.
- Interact and engage with the firm’s board of directors, ESOP trustee, and other stakeholders on strategic financial and governance topics.
- Strong FP&A skills
- Audit process facilitation, specifically external audits.
- Ability to lead implementation of future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system upgrades, migrations, and new platform Implementations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Degree(s) in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Ten years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation required.
- Experience with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) and ESOP organizations.
- Experience monitoring, managing, and forecasting cash in a growing organization.
- Experience with engineering or environmental consulting firm desired
- Experience with BSTGlobal or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
