Salary Range: $68,000 - 84,000

About the Position
As we expand our global impact, we are seeking a passionate and strategic Director of Development to lead our efforts in finding and stewarding key donors in households, faith communities, and corporate partners. The successful candidate will have a strong background and proven track record in successful nonprofit fundraising and must be willing to travel as needed to cultivate relationships.
Job Responsibilities:
- Donor Strategy and Cultivation:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting household donors, faith communities, corporate partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, ensuring a personalized and engaging experience that aligns with their philanthropic goals.
- Must be willing to travel at times nationally for in-person donor meetings and events.
- Portfolio Management:
- Manage a portfolio of donors and partners, implementing customized cultivation and stewardship plans for each donor.
- Conduct prospect research to identify and prioritize potential key donors who align with The Exodus Road's mission and values.
- Collaboration with Leadership:
- Work closely with the CEO, Director of Partnerships, and other key leadership to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and initiatives.
- Provide strategic input on fundraising goals and opportunities, contributing to the overall success of the development team.
- Proposal Writing:
- Prepare compelling and persuasive proposals and other donor communications to secure financial support.
- Follow up with donor-specific reports and communications for accountability.
- Event Participation:
- Manage part-time Hospitality Manager.
- Represent The Exodus Road at events, conferences, and meetings to network with potential donors and promote the organization's mission.
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless integration of major and key donor engagement at organizational events.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Utilize donor management systems to track donor interactions, contributions, and engagement strategies.
- Generate regular reports on fundraising progress, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
Job Requirements:
The Ideal candidate has the following:
- Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in a related field, or a demonstrated record that matches this qualification.
- Proven experience in nonprofit major gifts fundraising (7+ years) with a track record of successfully securing significant contributions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with major donors and partners.
- Excellent writing skills, particularly in crafting compelling proposals and donor communications.
- Knowledge of and passion for the anti-human trafficking sector.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
- Experience with donor management systems.
