Fine Fettle is a locally owned, multi-state cannabis company that is expanding into Georgia in 2023! Our mission is to create comfort in cannabis by providing a superior, customized cannabis experience and great products to help enable customers and patients to realize cannabis' full potential to improve their lives. To make this happen, we are looking for like-minded employees to assist us in continuing this incredible journey.
Fine Fettle was given a Notice of Intent to Award a license in Georgia, which allows Fine Fettle to produce low-THC oil for patients to obtain from licensed dispensaries. Our state of the art 118,000 square foot cultivation, processing, and manufacturing facility in Macon-Bibb County is currently under construction and will be an industry standard facility in the country. We also plan to open five dispensaries around Georgia later this year, with the opportunity to build more as patients of Georgia expand.
About the Role:
Fine Fettle is seeking a meticulous and organized Director of Compliance and Security with proven leadership abilities to join our dynamic team at our Georgia HQ. The Director of Compliance and Security manages the development and the execution of company-wide security and compliance programs for our manufacturing facility and dispensaries. Responsibilities include ensuring all company security and compliance operations align with local, state, and federal standards while guiding a dedicated team towards success across all markets.
What You'll Do:
  • Participates in the formulation and execution of a company-wide security and compliance program that standardizes Facility Security, Delivery, Access control, VMS installation/management, cash handling, and compliance oversight
  • Efficiently leads current and future members of the security and compliance team by establishing clear expectations and accountability, delivering feedback, and monitoring overall performance
  • Develop and execute a strategic security plan aligned with the company's goals and objectives
  • Evaluate and assess potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities to the organization and its assets
  • Where regulations allow, owns the relationship as the company's single point of contact with regulatory agencies within their market, collaborates with key partners to support proactive communication and/or follow up action items specific to regulatory contacts/inspections, and hosts inspections when possible
  • Project manage, plan, coordinate, prepare, review, and oversee all aspects of document and submission preparation for GMCC, GDOH in support of new product launch, amendments etc....
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on state regulations within their market - has an intimate understanding of the regulations and collaborates with key partners to understand their impact on the business.
  • Directs the activities of security and compliance personnel as well as corporate security teams to guarantee the protection of physical assets, properties, and resources.
  • Monitor and interpret laws, regulations, and industry standards for assigned market and coordinate process improvement needs and documentation updates to support.
  • Develops processes to track, monitor, trend and analyze regulatory requirement changes and external compliance communications from regulators.
  • Ensures through proper documentation, monitoring, auditing, and reporting activities that the business is compliant with licensing, system, community, and business commitments.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to update packaging and labeling compliance grids and checklists; reviews teams' output for compliance, and then completes product, packaging, and labeling, and/or equipment submissions as needed.
  • Collaborates with key business partners to update regulatory signage, identify system enhancements to improve inventory management compliance, supports growth opportunities with new store openings/relocations, and supports activities specific to the expansion of offerings within the market.
  • Coordinates training and awareness programs for employees on compliance obligations and responsibilities.
  • Ensures that compliance risk assessments are conducted to identify potential areas of non-compliance, including pre-inspection checklists, audits of system/seed to sale procedures; builds corrective action plans to address regulatory gaps or audit observations, including partnering with the appropriate parties to conduct investigations and updating SOPs.
  • Work with key partners to address adverse event opportunities and/or to ensure the execution of product recalls.
  • Periodically visits assigned sites to ensure all employees are performing processes and procedures accurately and ensure the facility is compliant. Support the enforcement of accountability for compliance actions and make continuous improvement recommendations to leadership.
  • Coordinates the required reporting to regulators and senior leadership of major regulatory issues related to such areas as adverse events/recalls, unexpected changes to operation hours, product events/concerns and/or security.
  • Manages Operational Compliance staff working in facilities within the assigned market.
  • Develops strategic approaches to achieve compliance with any above-mentioned security/compliance issues
  • Ensure employees at all sites receive proper annual trainings and continued education
  • Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a Security / Compliance or regulatory function or must have operated in a retail/production environment with a strong focus on compliance supporting a highly regulated industry such as cannabis, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, or tobacco preferred.
  • Experience establishing and communicating compliance procedures and policies.
  • Experience with utilizing and implementing multiple VMS
  • Ability to problem-solve and implement standards and changes with minimal supervision
  • Must be incredibly detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once while always remaining compliant with all laws and regulations
  • Government/Private sector security management certification preferred.
  • Large-scale security experience preferred; (Law enforcement and military experience included)
  • Professional communication skills; must be able to communicate with Senior Executives and Government Officials in a sophisticated manner
  • Must be 21+ years of age to apply
