Beyond Type 1 was co-founded by Nick Jonas in 2015. Our mission is to help people living with diabetes survive and thrive. We are the home of the largest diabetes community - 5 million strong and growing. From resources and truth talk about living with diabetes (eg: ‘Sex, Pumps & CGMs’, ‘Your Type 1 Guide to Music Festivals’) to helping you find affordable insulin (getinsulin.org) to connecting with other people living with diabetes, we are dedicated to building community for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director ofCommunity Health Impact and Strategic Alliances to help us in our mission to go beyond for people impacted by diabetes. This key role will be responsible for overseeing a team of program managers and together with these managers, ensure the successful implementation of a diverse range of programs that drive Beyond Type 1 deeper into the community. The Director ofCommunity Health Impact and Strategic Alliances will serve as a player/coach and be responsible for leading their own programs within the organization while guiding others to meet their metrics. This role reports to the SVP of Programs, Advocacy and Health Equity.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Working with the SVP and other leaders, develop and implement Beyond Type 1’s strategic vision for the organization's programs in alignment with the overall mission and goals
- Mentor a team of program managers, providing guidance and support for successful program execution
- Cultivate and engage regional/national strategic alliance partnerships in support of increasing Community Health Impact and to increase the reach of Beyond Type 1 Programs
- Evaluate program success metrics and outcomes to identify gaps in delivery and create opportunities for increased BT1 community member activation and volunteer engagement.
- Coach the team to build and expand the impact of Beyond Type 1 programs community member activation, grassroots reach, and loyalty loop engagement, guiding the team on annual planning and execution
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination between various programs and initiatives
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the development of the organization's strategic plan, with a focus on programmatic goals and objectives
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to enhance program effectiveness
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external partners, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at conferences, events, and meetings to enhance visibility and collaboration opportunities
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and proven success in program management within the nonprofit sector
- Proven success in leading and managing teams, with a focus on program development and implementation
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to align programs with organizational goals
- Knowledge of health equity principles and demonstrated experience in inclusive community engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing and fundraising for programs.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, fun, and demanding environment
- Superior communicator with demonstrated ability to be collaborative and open-minded
- Proven track record in working with stakeholders / building consensus at multiple levels
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and balance work in the face of rapidly changing needs
- Highly organized, tremendous attention to detail and incredibly tech-savvy
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as professional demeanor while interacting with all levels of management
- Bachelor’s degree required
