Job Description
Summary:
The Director of Business Development and Strategies oversees the integration of Business Development, opportunities, and growth strategies. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the position is responsible for the organization's Business Development strategy, new business lines, contracts, and community assessments.
The DBDS will work across marketing, IT, medical, quality, and finance departments to forge a robust plan to expand the SMF brand to communities served and beyond and increase SMF's revenue. The DBDS is an experienced strategic and visionary leader that takes the initiative and has the stamina, emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal skills to operate strategically and effectively oversee the tactics to help drive and achieve differentiating business results.
- Study market dynamics: customer/patient feedback (patient, community, hospital scores/surveys / social media), clinician feedback, and research customer trends for new pathways to growth.
- Develop a comprehensive, inclusive strategic plan and growth strategy by collaborating with the CEO, other leaders, and the board of directors.
- Align with the CEO to lead Business Developments, strategic planning, organizational planning, and transformation and monitor/measure performance.
- Collaborate with the CFO to develop a capital plan aligned with the organization's strategy.
- Identify essential capital projects, joint ventures, and other strategic partnership opportunities.
- Identify government grants that would assist in SMF's strategic growth.
- Ensure strategies are well communicated and translated into actionable and quantitative plans for entities and work units/functions.
- Work with front-line managers to anticipate trends and convene across disciplines and departments to brainstorm opportunities for innovation.
- Team with the Director of Information Technology to remain at the front end of new healthcare technology efforts.
- Communicate and market Business Development strategies across departments and organizations.
- Oversee the execution of Business initiatives.
- Create relationships with community partners to focus on what works and/or what is needed most in the community and test new care delivery models.
- Partners with Chief Financial Officer to ensure funding and resources are available to execute initiatives.
- Serve as a critical contributor/resource to the budget Development and monitoring processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in Business Administration, Public Health, Medical Administration, or a related program; and,
- Six years of full-time, paid experience in high-level responsible business administration, human resources administration, public administration, or an equivalent field, or as an Administrator in a position of direct responsibility for total operations or major parts thereof in a health setting including substantial exposure in meeting community needs; or,
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience, and training; and Extensive working knowledge of FQHCs, laws and regulations pertaining to health center operations with special reference to accreditation procedures.
