The Director of Behavioral Health Services at the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota and Desoto Counties plays a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and trauma-informed environment for both staff and members. This position requires a dynamic individual who will oversee and enhance Behavioral Health Services within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure the integration of trauma-informed care principles into all aspects of BGCSDC programming.
- Supervise Club Social workers and college interns, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality Behavioral Health Services.
Case Management:
- Oversee and directly engage in case management services to support the holistic well-being of members, addressing Behavioral Health needs with empathy and expertise.
- Collaborate with Club Social workers to develop and implement effective case management strategies tailored to the unique needs of the youth served.
Organizational Culture:
- Build and nurture an organizational culture that is trauma-informed and prioritizes the mental health and well-being of both staff and members.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions to ensure a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed care principles and their application.
Community Engagement:
- Act as a thought leader in the community, representing BGCSDC in forums related to Behavioral Health and trauma-informed care.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with external agencies, advocating for the importance of Behavioral Health Services for youth.
- Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required.
- Proven experience in providing and overseeing Behavioral Health Services, with a focus on trauma-informed care.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with youth development principles and practices.
