THE OPPORTUNITY
Bennett Day School is hiring a Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars who will support our PreK-12th grade community, serving on the administrative team and reporting to the Principal. The Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars will be charged with the comprehensive responsibility for all after school athletics for the School including both competitive and intramural, as well as all after school co-curricular programming, which includes ever-evolving student-selected clubs as well as annual staples, such as robotics and theater. This role will manage the overall school budget for Athletics and auxiliary programming, support vendor relationships, coordinate coaches (and coach as needed), create season schedules, manage equipment, and collaborate on third-party gym rental. As our first Director of Athletics, you will work to form relationships with new leagues, coaches, and schools, as well as develop and implement new policies and procedures related to Athletics and co-curricular programming, ensuring they are consistent with the School’s values and objectives.
The Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars will also supervise the After Care and Summer Camp Coordinator whose role is responsible for PreK-4th grade After Care and Summer Camp including management of After Care Associates, trimester scheduling, and day-to-day needs. The Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars will support the PreK-4th grade students, faculty, and family needs, issues, and inquiries as they arise in collaboration with the After Care Coordinator, as well as work to develop summer athletic offerings to support camp.
Requirements:THE ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience working with children and/or adolescents in an education setting; preferably both middle and upper school experience
- Experience in school co-curricular programming and athletics
- Experience working in teams
- Commitment to the continual development of one’s cultural competence
- Commitment to ongoing professional development

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Physical strength to independently lift 15-20 lbs
- Fluency in written and oral language in English
- Ability to oversee and ensure the safety of children in and out of the classroom
- First Aid and CPR Certified
