Director of Architecture

Job Summary

The Director of Architecture will be responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership for the software architecture, development and infrastructure teams as the team continues to grow. The role will be responsible for understanding our current architectural standards and creating cutting-edge solutions in a cloud-agnostic environment to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, s/he will provide business partnership cross functionally with business executives to align technical solutions to strategic business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Software Architecture, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineering Leadership:

• Lead and inspire a dynamic team of software architects, DevOps, and infrastructure engineers.

• Drive the design, development, and integration of innovative software solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Current Architectural Standards:

• Define and enforce architectural standards, principles, and guidelines to ensure a cohesive and scalable enterprise architecture.

• Stay abreast of industry trends, evolving technologies, and best practices to enhance the organization's architectural capabilities continuously.

• Cloud-Agnostic Expertise:

• Spearheaded initiatives to maintain a cloud-agnostic approach, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to various cloud platforms.

• Collaborate with teams to optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.

• High-Performance Team Development:

• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the teams.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to develop technical expertise and leadership skills among competent team members.

• Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, IT leaders, and business executives to understand and align technology solutions with strategic business goals.

• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Objective Leadership:

• Provide objective and strategic leadership in decision-making, ensuring the alignment of technology initiatives with the overall business strategy.

• Drive the development and implementation of the enterprise architecture vision and strategy.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (10 years) in a leadership role within enterprise architecture, focusing on software architecture, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of current architectural standards, cloud technologies, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performance teams.
• Experience in managing competent team members and achieving alignment within a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; occasionally lift and move up to 15 pounds; noise level is usually moderate.
