The National Center for Families Learning, a private nonprofit organization located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Director, Nebraska, who will lead the place-based execution of NCFL's Family Learning System model across the state. This person works closely with all Directors to ensure NCFL's efforts in support and in service of community needs. They serve as the primary contact for local/regional/statewide partners that engage in and contribute to the Family Learning System in a given community. This role is responsible for planning for community adoption and sustainability of NCFL's efforts. The successful candidate needs to reside in Nebraska.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure that NCFL's programmatic strategies, professional learning opportunities, and tools within its Family Learning System are implemented based on local needs.
  • Work across teams, including but not limited to, Education Strategy & Innovation and Research & Evaluation to develop, track, and study benchmarks for measuring community-level success.
  • Within a matrix structure, work with a team of Directors, Content Specialists, and Trainers to ensure high quality implementation of NCFL's Family Learning System components.
  • Work closely with Finance team to ensure compliance is upheld with public and private funding sources.
  • Help community partners maximize impact based on knowledge of local systems, policies, and resources.
  • Meet with and listen to feedback from families and partners on a regular basis to inform continuous improvement.
  • See, cultivate, and steward strong partnerships that enable sustainability of community-based efforts beyond NCFL's involvement.
  • Manage local vendor relationships.
  • Oversee and support the planning and implementation of community-based events and services.

  • Maintains awareness of current professional information in the fields of activity, undertakes regular and ongoing efforts to maintain competencies in the skills and incorporates new knowledge and skills on the job.
  • Shares pertinent information with manager about work progress, successes, concerns and other issues that may impact the services intended for families.
  • A commitment to upholding the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or higher with specialization in Education, Human Services or a related field preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in leading educational programming in diverse settings and communities
  • Experience working with adults and children, school- and community-based partners
  • Ability to understand and analyze data to guide continuous program improvement efforts
  • Exceptional writing skills, ability to conceptualize and communicate ideas, organizational skills, and evidence of effective leadership when working with a team
  • Actively contribute to a positive, professional work culture focused on growth, development and learning across departments and teams
  • An unwavering belief that all families want the best for their children and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
  • Proven track record of ambitious results in previous roles.
  • Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
  • Skilled at collaborative action planning and execution
  • Travel required up to 40%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • The ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate the keyboard including some reaching requiring consistent use of hands and arms.
  • Ability to travel.

Salary range - $75,000-$85,000
