Summary:

 

The Director of Mission and Community Health leads mission integration and Community Health within Yavapai Regional Medical Center to ensure the mission, vision, values, and heritage are integrated into all aspects of the organization both internally and externally.

 

In this newly created position, you will promote a values-based organizational culture uniting people around the organization's mission, vision, values and heritage. Designs and implements educational programming for staff, medical staff, volunteers, the community and others about the Dignity Health mission, vision, values and heritage. Oversees hospital volunteer programs and ensures that a robust spiritual care program is in place.

 

Manages the development and operations of Community Health improvement programs, collaborates with Finance on community benefit reporting, and oversees the department functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets strategy and works with the leadership team to make operational the Dignity Health Mission Integration Standards.
  • Develops and implements processes that affect the organization's operations goals and strategic transformation.
  • Leads and sets strategy for integrating the mission, vision, values and heritage within the organization. Develops and implements policies procedures and programs to achieve operational goals.
  • Prepares regular accountability reports for the senior leadership team and hospital board regarding key areas of mission integration: organizational identity, spirituality, culture, ethical principles, Community Healthand Community benefit, and the common good.

Mission Integration:

  • Leads and sets strategy for mission integration within Dignity Health to ensure the mission, vision, values and heritage are integrated into all aspects of the organization. Promotes a values-based organizational culture uniting people
    around the organization's mission, vision, values, and heritage.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Ethics for the Division, oversees ethics functions in the market.
  • Oversees the hospital volunteer programs.

Community Healthand Community Benefit:

  • Critical task: Contributes to strategic decisions that affect the development and implementation of evidence-based programs, policies and procedures to achieve Community Health goals. Leads Community Health Needs Assessments and
    Implementation Strategies, and prepares the hospital's annual community benefit report and plan.
  • Ensures the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting of strategic programs that address identified priority Community Health needs. Oversees triennial needs assessment and annual community benefit reporting, secures
    resources, and develops and maintains collaborative relationships to align Community Health with internal hospital and external community stakeholders.
  • Oversees measurement and evaluation of Community Health programs and strategies. Ensures the timely and accurate collection and reporting of expense data and program information from multiple hospital departments for mandated community benefit reporting.
  • Works with CommonSpirit’s national office Community Health department to participate in their support, instruction, tools and coordination on Community Healthand Community benefit matters.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility in a related field (e.g. Spiritual Care Healthcare etc.).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Familiarity or experience with tax-exempt hospital Community Health/community benefit activities and requirements.

Minimum Education Required:

  • Master’s Degree in healthcare management, theology, spirituality, behavioral science or related fields.
