Location: Decatur, IL, Chicago, IL, or Erlanger, KY (monthly travel to North America HQ in Decatur, IL)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Director to lead our HR operations team. The successful candidate have a strong background in operational efficiency, process improvement, project management, and customer experience. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day HR operations, including but not limited to payroll, benefits administration, HRIS data management, global mobility, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a proven track record of driving operational excellence in a complex, multinational organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- In close partnership with the global process owner, develop and execute HR operations strategies to optimize technology enablement, HR service delivery, and the user experience.
- Cultivate a high-performing HR operations team located across multiple regions focused on skill development, career pathing, and colleague engagement.
- Manage direct reports including managers of payroll, service center, compliance, global mobility, and workforce administration.
- Establish a standard customer experience philosophy to ensure a positive colleague, candidate, and manager experience
- Develop, publish, and maintain operational metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of the team and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee U.S., Canada, and expatriate payroll administration and ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations in all jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Lead teams conducting leave of absence administration, HRIS data workflows, and compliance to ensure a positive colleague, candidate, and manager experience.
- Oversee global mobility and domestic relocation services including policy review, taxation, immigration, and vendor management to deliver positive experiences for colleagues and their families.
- Serve in a lead HR role in technology implementations and M&A activity.
- Utilize ongoing feedback channels to drive continuous improvement initiatives enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations processes and procedures while prioritizing data accuracy.
- Actively manage vendors and associated budgets in conjunction with procurement.
- Partner and build relationships with cross-functional teams Finance, Legal, and IT, to support business initiatives and ensure compliance.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in HR operating models and leverage this knowledge to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to HR operations activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in HR operations with at least 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably in a global/multinational organization with large hourly workforce
- Strong understanding of U.S. and Canada HR regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing HRIS, payroll, total rewards administration, and talent management administration required. Managing a global team a plus.
- Proven track record of driving process improvement initiatives, achieving operational excellence, and delivering measurable results.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across different regions.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, project and change management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage short-term and long-term priorities.
- Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
