Compensation Range: $117,900-$165,000
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.
The Global Director Trade Compliance will be responsible for supporting a team located at the various EnerSys facilities across the globe, with the objective of redesigning and auditing the Global Trade Compliance function and processes.
The position will also assist with the development and deployment of improved practices, training, and system tools, in coordination with outside counsel and consultants.
This position will report to our Senior Counsel, Corporate and Compliance within the EnerSys Legal Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hire and lead the Global Trade Compliance Oversight Team
- Provide strategic direction and technical expertise to the Global Trade Compliance program.
- Develop, implement, and update the Trade Compliance program to ensure standard processes consistent with export and import laws and regulations and other trade-related requirements.
- Drive corporate initiatives to update and automate Global Trade performance metrics and record-keeping systems.
- Create and enhance Trade Compliance training programs for employees and partners, and appropriately identify and prioritize such training programs.
- Audit all aspects of associated customs brokers such as import and export compliance; free trade agreements; and international customs regulatory requirements.
- Audit compliance with CTPAT and Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) and other critical compliance regulations.
- Identify regulatory changes related to Trade Compliance and assist with interpretation and guidance for the impacted geographies and businesses.
- Ensure adequate resources dedicated to the Trade Compliance function for each location and make recommendations to key senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Evaluate and implement opportunities to streamline and standardize reporting, processes and Trade Compliance procedures.
- Collaborate and build cross-functional relationships within the business and supply chain functions in multiple locations across the globe.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in international trade within a global organization including experience in a compliance related function.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced certification, including incensed customs broker, graduate degree, or Juris Doctorate.
- Must be willing to travel internationally.
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES:
- Must have high level writing and communication abilities.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, guidelines, reports, and other documents.
- Ability to coach, train, mentor and develop a team.
- Ability to standardize processes, apply technology and facilitate organizational change.
- Ability to understand operational processes and relationships across supply chain.
