POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Director of Close and Consolidations to join our Global Finance Team. This full-time position will be responsible for a broad range of corporate finance responsibilities across the globe, including overseeing the global financial close process and consolidation of financial statements for the organization. This includes managing the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data, analyzing and reconciling financial information, and preparing consolidated financial statements. This role requires the ability to navigate complexities associated with multi-currency consolidations and cross-border reporting. The Director may also be responsible for establishing and enforcing accounting policies, implementing process improvements, and liaising with internal and external auditors. Strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and experience with financial systems and reporting are essential for this role. Effective communication and leadership abilities are also important for collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving the Close and consolidation processes efficiently. This individual will report to our Chief Accounting Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing the global financial close process for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Managing the consolidation of financial statements for international subsidiaries and entities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Understanding and managing foreign currency transactions, translations and remeasurements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Coordinating with regional finance teams to standardize and streamline the close process, while also addressing any regional differences in accounting practices.
  • Developing and maintaining global accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting across international operations.
  • Leading the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and tools to support international Close and Consolidations processes.
  • Collaborating with internal and external auditors to facilitate the audit of consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
  • Providing guidance and support to regional finance teams, as well as training on Close and consolidation processes and standards.
  • Monitoring changes in accounting regulations and standards across different jurisdictions and
  • Ensuring that these changes are appropriately reflected in the international Close and consolidation process.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is generally required. A Master's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting may be preferred.
  • Professional Certification: Holding a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional certification is often necessary. Additionally, a certification such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) can be beneficial.
  • Experience: A strong background in financial reporting, close processes, and international consolidations, preferably in a multinational corporation or global organization. 10+ years progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on international operations, 5 years of those being specifically in Corporate Accounting, is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and driving cross-functional collaboration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively leading and coordinating international Close and Consolidations activities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with financial systems and software used for close processes and Consolidations, as well as expertise in financial reporting tools and ERP systems. Use of Netsuite and Floqast preferred.
  • Strategic Vision: The ability to develop and execute strategies for improving and standardizing global Close and Consolidations processes, while also staying abreast of evolving accounting standards and best practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with attention to detail, to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting across international entities.
  • Ability to work with a wider global team and across different time zones if necessary.
