Job Description
This role can be based at our San Francisco, CA or Mountain View, CA office. At LinkedIn, we trust each other to do our best work where it works best for us and our teams. The Global Security & Safety team is responsible for protecting LinkedIn's people, business operations, brand, and facilities. We are focused on building scalable programs that support LinkedIn's culture by enabling our people to do their best work while feeling safe and cared for, wherever they are located.
As part of our efforts to deliver on this vision, we are hiring a senior leader to direct our global Security Operations and Health & Safety programs. The Director of Global Security & Safety Operations will serve as a member of the GS&S Leadership team, reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Global Security & Safety.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and direct a scalable global campus security and safety program to include physical security staffing, health & Safety program management, and incident preparedness and response.
- Lead a group of experienced regional security managers to oversee the day-to-day security operations at over 40 offices globally.
- Oversee our Global Health & Safety programs to ensure we are delivering on compliance requirements, best practices, and program components in support of company culture.
- In partnership with our Workplace Operations team, design a global office support model for our portfolio that is based on a principled approach to risk and includes staffing, systems, design, and training requirements.
- Tailor the Security & Safety Operations programs to deliver global minimum standards while allowing for regional and local nuances dictated by laws, regulations, and cultural norms.
- Partner with our Global Security Design & Systems team to develop and implement physical security design standards applicable to our office portfolio.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks facing our people, business operations, brand and facilities through the implementation of appropriate security measures.
- Design a global investigations standard in collaboration with our partners in Legal to establish and direct GS&S' roles in internal and external investigations.
- Partner with our Protective Services, Intel and Trust & Safety teams in support of efforts to identify and protect against potential threats to our people and places.
- Serve as the global subject matter expert for physical security and health & Safety Operations.
- Collaborate with our Director of Risk & Resilience to design and execute on a global incident management model utilizing assigned assets at the regional and local levels.
- Maintain beneficial relationships with law enforcement and public safety entities.
- Collaborate with our Awareness & Engagement team to drive employee engagement and deliver on training requirements across our portfolio.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years in the corporate security function or a closely related field
- 5+ years of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building, implementing and maintaining security and safety programs globally
- Proven ability to lead a globally dispersed team from a diverse set of backgrounds in delivering a unified vision.
- Established history of cross functional partnership with: Legal, Workplace, C-Suite, People / HR, Finance, Info Sec, Trust and Safety.
- Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations governing security operations globally.
- Working knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulatory requirements.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar certification preferred. Relevant work experience may be substituted.
- Proven ability to effectively manage vendor/supplier relationships preferably on a global level.

The pay range for this role is $150,000 - $244,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
