Lucid Motors is a leading automotive company dedicated to delivering sustainable luxury electric vehicles. The Director of Global Project Controls will develop and lead a team of cost, schedule, and risk analysts in support of the effective delivery of Lucid’s world-wide capital program.
The Role:
- Project Controls Leadership: Develop and implement policies and procedures to be executed locally in a federated corporate governance model for managing cost control, planning and scheduling, risk management, contingency management, communication, change management, contract administration and document control. Establish the criteria, content, format and cadence for regular reporting of project status and performance.
- Capital Program Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day implementation of project control policies, procedures, reporting and tracking systems for project cost, schedule, risk, and change management for all projects in Lucid’s capital program. Ensure project teams as well as senior management receive the Project Controls reporting needed to promote proactive decision-making. Collaborate closely with internal partners in corporate accounting and finance, as well as external vendors to establish governance and monitor budget, schedule and risk against goals.
- Staff Development: Provide career guidance, mentorship, and skills enhancement for the Project Controls group. Develop and offer training and/or mentoring to Lucid’s project management teams on topics such as project risk management, change management, and dispute avoidance.
- Capital Programming Support: Provide budget, scheduling and risk management support for long range capital planning.
- Procurement and Contracting Support: Advise the procurement and project management team on effective project delivery and contracting strategies – from bid solicitation, negotiation, and award.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred - Engineering discipline or Construction Management.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in cost control, schedule control, and risk management for complex capital projects with budgets of at least $250M.
- Expansive knowledge of leading practices in project planning and CPM scheduling, estimating, budget development, cost account management, cost control, change control, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), status reporting, and trending and forecasting.
- Experience with various forms of project delivery, including fixed price design-build and progressive design-build, and the controls environments needed to effectively monitor progress and performance under such delivery strategies.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with executive leadership. Comfortable with communicating progress and adverse trends and identifying and escalating issues as appropriate to support timely executive decision-making.
- Strong time management skills, with a high level of self-motivation and a demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Highly organized, with high attention to detail.
