The Director of Enterprise Risk Management will lead the tactical execution of the credit union's enterprise risk management programs. Additionally, this position provides compliance, regulatory and risk management advice to the credit union to minimize risk and ensure operations are conducted in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position is responsible for ensuring REV is completing all assigned compliance and information security training and complying with the credit union's policies and procedures related to the Bank Secrecy Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the execution of the credit union's enterprise risk management programs:
- Provides support and guidance to the compliance, QA, and ERM specific teams as well as team members across the organization in response to inquiries and requests.
- Partners with internal and external counsel to assist in litigation brought against or on behalf of REV.
- Drafts and updates disclosures, notices, forms, letters, and agreement used by the credit union as business practices, technology, and regulations change.
- Reviews and provides advice on vendor contracts, software and licensing agreements and corporate real estate transactions.
- Completes investigations and responds to regulatory inquiries, requests form law enforcement agencies, member complaints, and other ERM related issues.
- Maintains the credit union's vendor management program that tracks contract renewal dates, completion and updating of due diligence reviews, reviews and negotiates vendor contacts as well as risk assessments of vendor relationships.
- Assists with merger and acquisition activities, including transaction-related documentation and supporting compliance personnel with vendor changes as well as disclosure and agreement changes.
- Provides updates to policies and informs key stakeholders of potential changes to laws and regulations impacting REV.
- Assists with internal employment, ethics, and compliance investigations as needed.
Assumes responsibility for additional initiatives:
- Participates with the Supervisory Committee in t delivery of the internal and external audit findings, including fraud reporting.
- Collaborates effectively with other credit union leaders to support credit union projects.
- Researches and implements new processes and technology to improve operational efficiency.
- Provides training as needed for the effective implementation of risk management practices.
Assumes responsibility for complying with applicable regulations:
- Responsible for supporting compliance of all applicable laws and regulations that the credit union is subject to.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Education/Certifications & Experience:
- At least five (5) years experience in leading multiple ERM functions/operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
- Proven experience in reading and interpreting compliance rules, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proven leadership abilities, including but not limited to leading teams to successful implementation of strategic and tactical plans.
