Job Description
Responsible for technology, operational, and business growth activities driven by client and corporate needs that may include one or more of the following areas: system and software administration, development and maintenance of products and services, adherence to RRD corporate and department policy, process improvement, planning, implementation of solutions and maintaining operational excellence. Thorough understanding of the USPS capabilities and developing strategies and solutions as a service offering for RRD Customers.
Responsibilities:
- Successful migration of current List Processing / Postal Sortation mainframe environment to new Quadient BCC platform.
- Provide status updates demonstrating progress to RRD Project and Executive teams on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Develop strategies for the department that complement and contribute to overall business objectives.
- Establish department goals that incrementally meet annual and long-term business objectives.
- Stay appraised of industry, legal, and competitive trends and translate their impact on department strategy.
- Responsible for new technology research.
- Develop a complete understanding of business operations running on the Windows and Mainframe technology platforms.
- Create the appropriate organization model to support skills and staff related to data: security, connectivity, automation, validation, processing, analytics, reporting, delivery, and storage.
- On-going management of team members across all projects & priorities.
- Continue to foster and build team member expertise through ongoing cross-training opportunities & succession planning.
- Actively collaborate with centralized estimating, sales, legal, and IT governance in the new business sales cycle which may or may not include direct client contact.
- Scope of project/service and plans for resources needed--time, staff expertise (internal & external), tools, financial--to provide an integrated framework in which goals may be achieved.
- Set overall direction for the department by determining and prioritizing customer needs and company expectations.
- Work with finance to forecast and develop the department budget.
- Review and request purchase orders related to vendor software, consultant services, and other outside products.
- Approve ongoing department expenses (internal and external). May negotiate and approve vendor fees.
- Analyze the budget for variance and take corrective action as necessary.
- Share and clarify overall company vision and related department strategies with staff.
- Build alliances with and establish communication bridges with staff, peers, other work units, RRD leadership, external partners, and customers.
- Define staffing requirements based on business needs and budget.
- Envision ideal achievements and performance results for the department, consistent with the organization's objectives.
- Provide a road map for individual and collective department performance and development.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in area related to function of position + 15 years or more relevant work experience
- 5 or more years of experience in a management function
- USPS Postal Expertise.
- BCC / Red Point suite knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Direct Mail and Multi-Channel Direct Marketing, and the role data plays.
- Knowledge and awareness of the specific data tactics employed within or connected to ADMS, including Business Analysis, Program Management, List Brokerage, List Processing, Mail Preparation Processing, Database, Predictive Analytics, and Data Visualization.
- Able to consistently contribute effort, leadership, and creative thinking to solving complex and significant problems in a collaborative fashion.
- Able to communicate complex concepts, problems, and solutions clearly and effectively to customers, as well as, all levels within the organization.
- Able to work on special projects to enhance internal system functionality from the operational business perspective.
- Requires excellent communication skills with all levels of audience.
- Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
- Promote teamwork within and across work units.
- Define staffing requirements based on business needs and budget.
Additional Information
The national pay range for this role is $109,800 - $222,000 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
