Director, Community & Government Relations
As the Director, Community & Government Relations - Construction you are a critical role representing Ezee Fiber Construction efforts at municipal meetings, community gatherings, HOA Meetings, Utility Districts, and other various forums. You will support the construction initiatives and priorities of the company by serving as the primary point of contact for various government officials, economic development agencies, and community organizations. You will be proactive in providing feedback on community viewpoints, as well as educate communities on the construction process. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, goal oriented, independent worker, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The right candidate must possess an outgoing personality, with a strong focus on relationship building.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate community relations efforts to develop and execute strategic community engagement and communications plans to support fiber optic construction projects across the United States
- Ensure project-specific community engagement strategies align with municipality guidelines, established best practices, and company goals.
- Develop budgets, provide cost accountability, and work with project teams to ensure accurate forecast and accurate cost coverage to achieve the strategic plan.
- Proactively build relationships with essential government officials, community leaders, and community organizations, mainly HOA’s and Water Utilities.
- Support the Engineering and Construction process by identifying HOA’s and community groups within the projected construction areas.
- Coordinate meetings between key community organizations, Ezee Fiber Construction Managers, and Contractors
- Ensure timely communication with community leaders regarding permitting, construction, and maintenance timelines and expectations of upcoming construction projects.
- Lead community engagement activities on specific projects to grow key community relationships and foster support for new fiber expansion projects.
- Identify opposition and related risks to project success and help implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Government Relations, or Construction Management, or 10 years’ experience in community/customer care, Government Relations, or utility construction
- Strong knowledge of utility construction process.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations.
- Ability to produce and deliver in-depth reports and presentations to internal and external partners.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with confidential information with integrity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to present and share information with internal and external audiences.
- Good collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in sensitive, political environments.
- Good organizational skills to analyze, coordinate, and implement initiatives.
- Diplomacy and the ability to get along well with all levels of management and government officials.
