Prevention Initiative Education Curriculum Coach

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Responsible for the implementation of the designated researched based curriculum implemented by education staff designed to address the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of infants and toddlers. Ensures staff are trained on the curriculum and monitors their progress on a regular basis to ensure fidelity.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Trains staff on the elements of the designated curriculum designed to address the needs of infants and toddlers in center and home-based settings.
• Responsible for the ongoing supervision of the Prevention Initiative Home Visitor
• Provides training on the lesson plans and ensures the implementation of the daily routine.
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates data to determine the effectiveness of curriculum implementation for infants and toddlers in center and home-based settings.
• Conducts bi-monthly visits to observe classrooms and conducts monthly visits to shadow visits conducted by the home visitor. Feedback is provided to staff after visits are completed and action plans are developed.
• Assists in pooling resources to establish a comprehensive support system and empower parents as primary educators of their children in partnership with teachers and home visitors.
• Works cooperatively with the program manager, site directors, and infant and toddler mental health specialist to ensure the integration of education, health and safety, mental health and family engagement.
• Provides training and support in partnership with the infant and toddler specialist for staff who are seeking to obtain the Child Development Associate Infant and Toddler Credential.
• Provide staff with information regarding children's temperaments and best practice strategies to address their needs.
• Confers regularly with teachers and home visitors on behavioral challenges occurring with infants and toddlers that are presenting concerns for staff and parents regarding the behavior of children.
• Works closely with the administrative team and early childhood staff as a team and contributes knowledge and expertise.
• Ensure parents are receiving training to support their engagement and interaction with their children in their home environment.
• Serves as a member of the core administrative team to address continuous quality improvement and ongoing programmatic operations.
• Participates in weekly reflective supervision sessions conducted by the supervisor.
• Attends meeting sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education to obtain knowledge regarding the implementation of the Prevention Initiative Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience: Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education/Master's degree preferred with 3 to 5 years of work experience with young children birth to age three and their families in licensed childcare facilities along with experience working with children and families in home-based settings.
Credential:
Bachelors or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate and interpret State of Illinois requirements of the Prevention Initiative program.
• Mathematics and language arts proficiency
• Bilingual preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, etc.), Google Sheets and Google Forms
• Proficient in data entry and management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Able to work collaboratively with teams
• Demonstrated reliability regarding attendance and work performance
• Ability to be creative, flexible and adaptive in ALL activities and responsibilities
• Must be a team player
