Direct Support Professional (Dsp)

The Direct Support Professional ( commonly called a Caregiver) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of residents with developmental and intellectual disabilities who reside in Liberty Living, LLC’s residential programs. This includes direct care of program residents and implementation of person-centered documentation such as individual support plans (ISP) and positive behavior support plans (PBSP). Direct Support Professionals are required to perform all duties in accordance with State of Oregon regulations and Liberty Living’s policies and procedures.

About Liberty Living:

Liberty Living, LLC was started back in 2019 by Don & Kasia Marsters after 9 years of running an AFH (Adult Foster Home) with 3 of the same residents that currently live in our homes. They felt the residents deserved the opportunity to grow and "move out" just like Don and Kasias' 3 older children did. Apart from other Agency's we hold true to the value of person-centered, not just for the residents we support but all people under our umbrella. We value the opportunity to stay small with 6 residents and 15-25 employees, spread over 2 houses and one office all located on the same property and no intentions of becoming any larger. We host Holiday open houses or parties to celebrate the accomplishments of everyone in our program. We strive to take two Agency camping trips a year where employees are invited to come and visit, participate in fun activities with most amenities covered. Our Agency Directors are on site weekly and make frequent stops in the homes or occasionally takes the residents out for coffee dates. We emphasize on the open-door policy to all employees, our goal is for everyone to have a sense of family and openly communicate amongst each other and to all levels within the Agency for our residents and personal wellbeing, we encourage everyone on our team to have a voice, make suggestions towards improving the care we provide to the residents and one another. Our House Managers are required to have scheduled working hours in the homes weekly as well as rotating on-call weekends so their is always someone available. Our employee roster for 2+ years with the Agency is 73% of our total employee roster.

Requirements:

HS Diploma or GED required

Must be 18 years or older

Valid drivers license

Able to pass a background check

Work experience:

Preferred 1+ years experience working with individuals who may need physical, emotional, and mental guidance from another person OR whom have worked in the IDD/Mental Health community.

Willing to train someone with no work experience that has strong ambitions to help others.

Skills:

• Ability to write and read in English
• Excellent verbal/communication skills
• Administer medications as assigned
• Able to provide and maintain a clean environment
• Prep & cook three meals a day around a provided menu
• Teach and demonstrate leadership skills to others
• Encourage individuals to complete tasks related to personal hygiene care and upkeep of their home.
• Works well with others by treating them with dignity, respect, and fairness.
• Keep cool, calm & collected under pressure
• Able to transport individuals to community events

Education:

Are you attending college? This is a great hands-on experience for students going to school in phycology, education, health care and many other fields. We also are willing to work your shifts around your class schedules once training requirements are met and the shifts you are hired for has flexibility( more than happy to discuss expectations/ details during an interview)

Shifts/ Positions to fill:

3 Weekday- Partial sleep overnights (9pm-9am)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
