We are currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in providing person centered support, fostering independence and promoting a sense of community inclusion.

The Work:

• Create a healthy, engaging, typical home for people with intellectual disabilities
• Teach and assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Implement and document individualized support plans
• Promote and advocate for the health and wellness of the people supported
• Support individuals to become independent, make decisions, and live a meaningful dignified life with valued social roles (ex: friend, neighbor, student, employee)
• Provide transportation for individuals to various community activities and appointments
• Monitor and address the physical and emotional well-being of individuals under your care
• Participate in training programs and stay updated on best practices in the field

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in caregiving or a related field preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years of age
• A great attitude
• Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Successful completion of required orientation trainings within specified timeframes, including First Aid and CPR certifications, Medication Administration, and others mandated by regulations
• Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
