Optimize the Quality of Life For Individuals with Autism.The Direct Support Professional (DSP) assists the Residence Manager and Shift Supervisor with implementing and maintaining residential systems and programs within the house, campus and community settings. The DSP implements student specific interventions as identified in student support and behavior plans. The DSP maintains all appropriate student or classroom related documentation. The DSP is expected to assist students with learning skills that promote the individual’s overall independence.
Pay range $15.00-$18.00 with increases for experience, education, and RBT certification
Responsibilities:
Provides appropriate supervision to ensure the health and safety of students.
Works to increase student independence in daily living, communication, recreation and social skills domains.
Takes an active role to ensure preparedness and organization within the residential environment.
Assists with training formal and informal student learning goals.
Acts as a member of a residential team representing student progress, challenges and abilities in a respectful manner.
- Demonstrates Professionalism
- Supports good health (food prep, toileting, hygiene, etc.)
- Supports safety
- Promotes being active and productive in society
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- NYS Drivers License preferred
- Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shifts and weekends
- Must complete two week orientation and maintain training or qualifications as they relate to Anderson Center for Autism
