Direct Support Caregiver

Looking for a Direct Support Caregiver for my 14 year old special needs son for the following schedule:

PLEASE NOTE: APPLY ONLY IF YOU'RE AVAILABLE TO WORK DURING THESE HOURS

• Monday - Friday: 3pm to 7pm
• Alternating Saturdays (work every other Saturday):

Morning Shift: 9am to 5pm

OR

Afternoon Shift: 12pm to 8pm

Morning or Afternoon shift for Saturday will be chosen by me and discussed in advanced with you to make sure you're able to work during those hours. Hours may also change.

Location: In my house located at Far East El Paso approximately by Zaragoza and Edgemere.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individual.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Administer medications if needed (training will be provided).
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individual.
• De-escalate challenging behaviors.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for indivisual.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and provide physical assistance when necessary.
• Familiarity with hospice care principles and practices is a plus.
• Excellent observation skills to monitor individual's physical and emotional well-being.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic towards individuals with disabilities or special needs.
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques.
• Have reliable tranportation, strong communication skills, and be RELIABLE.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Knowledge of the English language is not necessary, but a plus.

Experience:

Previous experience working in a similar role, such as Direct Support professional, educator, social worker and caregiver is preferred- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is beneficial- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is an asset.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekends
