We are on the search for a visionary Digital Design Director, someone with a passion for creating groundbreaking digital creative and engaging, artful marketing. This position demands versatility, encompassing a wide array of digital realms such as eCommerce (Shopify), email/SMS marketing, and organic + paid social media (including platforms like META, TIKTOK, and YOUTUBE).
You'll be at the forefront of everything from extensive 360 digital campaigns and owned loyalty programs to engaging promotional ventures. Your role involves crafting and delivering compelling digital and editorial content for ILIA on an international stage across owned, earned and paid channels.
This role is reports into the SVP, Creative, is hybrid (estimated 2-days in-person per week) and open to candidates based in Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
- Design Mastery: Leverage your outstanding design skills to produce creative and visually appealing assets that embody our brand's philosophy. Your work should exhibit meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to exceptional design quality, particularly in the realm of beauty and skincare.
- Collaborative Conceptualization: Engage in collaborative brainstorming with the creative, social, eCommerce, UX, and technology teams to ensure your designs not only meet but surpass expectations.
- Digital Content Leadership: Spearhead the development of engaging digital content tailored to our audience across various digital platforms, such as social media, email, and websites, understanding the unique requirements of each.
- Typography and Design Passion: Show a profound commitment to typography, layout, and overall design aesthetics. Your creations should be visually striking while aligning strategically with our brand's objectives and values.
- Creative Collaboration and Execution: Work in close harmony with the Design and Copy teams, the Content Director, Creative Operations and the SVP of Creative to lead the design process and realize the creative vision.
- Social Media Creative Direction: Partner closely with the Social team in crafting compelling stories and assets for various channels, both in paid and organic channels.
- Leadership and Team Development: Manage and inspire a talented team of designers and editors, promoting creativity, efficiency, and professional development. Oversee the production of high-quality content for email marketing, our website, social media, and paid advertising campaigns.
- Art Direction and Design Management: Mentor and manage Art Directors, Designers, and Junior Designers, ensuring the highest design standards throughout all project stages.
- Integrated Campaign Collaboration: Actively participate in creative briefings and partner with Digital Commerce and Marketing teams to understand the needs of digital 360 campaigns, including aspects of social, website, and email design.
- Paid Campaign Oversight: Supervise our paid advertising campaigns, ensuring a consistent level of creative excellence while hitting key OKRs.
- Style Guide Development and Brand Consistency: Develop digital and email style guides, creatively addressing layout challenges while maintaining brand consistency.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Marketing and Creative teams during strategic development to ensure alignment across functions.
- User Experience Enhancement: Identify opportunities to enhance user experience through design, delivering a visually engaging and user-friendly interface.
- AI Understanding: Possess a solid comprehension of AI and its applications in design.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in 360 digital art design. Agency/In-house experience working with beauty, fashion, or wellness clients preferred
- You should be deeply immersed in the world of beauty and skincare. Your passion for the industry should be evident in your work and your ability to stay ahead of trends and innovations
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Digital Design, typography, and brand development from concept to execution
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Google Suite, Shopify, Klavio, Meta, TikTok, YouTube
- Understanding of UX/UI design principles
- Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Asana
- Excellent writing and communications experience
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Management experience of teams with 3+ people
- Motion design experience is a plus

This is the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a few factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
