Job Description:


Title: Digital Content Creator


Unit: Non-Unit Professional (NUP)


Department: Communications & Creative Services


Reports to: Director of Communications & Creative Services and Website Development


Date: April 24, 2024


General Summary: Reporting to the Director of Communications & Creative Services and Website Development, this position will play a crucial role in creating professional and timely photo and video content for the college's website and marketing initiatives, including CRM campaigns, advertising, emails, and social media. The position will also assist the department's graphic designers with the creation of Digital Content including graphics and animations.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Using college provided photography, video, and audio equipment, develop engaging Digital Content that supports the Strategic Plan for use on the college website and in college marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Marketing and Media Relations on developing, interviewing, and filming MCC students, staff and partners to tell stories aligned with the college mission.
  • Attend college events to capture photos and video content for use on social media.
  • Film, edit and produce OTT content for enrollment and recruitment marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Admissions on the creation of Digital Content for use in the CRM.
  • Hold two Professional Headshot sessions for MCC employees annually.
  • Liaise with the Media Production intern program to produce official college video content including Commencement and Online Orientation.
  • Maintain and manage the College's digital asset library.
  • Catalog and archive completed jobs according to office standards.
  • Other support duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • At least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in Digital Content creation or a related field, and experience working as part of a larger, creative team.
  • A certificate or higher degree in videography, media production or photography may be substituted for the one year of required experience.
    • Expertise using a DSLR camera, audio equipment and lighting equipment
    • Expertise using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or equivalent editing and production software
    • Expertise using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
  • Fluency using a MAC operating system.
  • Ability to shoot, edit and produce photo and video content on the same day.
  • Have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel between campuses and partner sites.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and identities such as socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religion, veterans, culture, race and ethnicity, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.


Additional Information:


Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience. Employees of Middlesex Community College are considered employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and receive benefits, which include:

Location: Bedford campus with regular travel to Lowell as needed


Hours: 37.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire, This position will be eligible for a maximum of two days of telework in accordance with the College's telework policy.
