Position Title: Dietary Line Cook/IL & AL

Results Statement: I am accountable for producing the following results:

Assist in all areas of preparation of food. To provide nourishing food to residents, guests, and employees under sanitary conditions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare food for residents.
• Ensure food supplies are good quality and stored properly.
• Ensure a clean kitchen and workspace.
• Read and follow provided recipes.
• Participate in educational in-service opportunities.

Essential Skills & Education

1. Excellent communication skills and customer service.
2. Flexibility with work hours and work duties.

1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. Previous cook experience (2-3 years) preferred.

Essential Physical Requirements & Work Environment

1. Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of body strength, sitting, standing, climbing stairs, or walking for extended periods of time; operating tools and equipment; and lifting up to 75 pounds over four feet high.
2. Must have the ability to grip and grasp to operate required equipment to care for residents
3. Must be able to spend time standing and walking on surfaces such as concrete, wood, metal, and sometimes on slippery and wet surfaces.
4. Visual Acuity; ability to see and hear within normal parameters, must use hands and fingers to use keyboard when required by essential functions of position; operate equipment or controls; reach above shoulder heights, below the waist; or lift to perform the essential functions of the job throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required.
