This is a Cook position for Cedar Creek of Franklin, an Assisted Living Community.
Position Summary:
Prepares food that meets or exceeds hospitality and service standards of this community. Prepares all foods to meet quantity and deadline requirements.

- Prepares food items using standardized recipes in a timely manner.
- Determines food and supplies needed and coordinate meal production with serving hours.
- Prepares all special dietary need as directed by the menus.
- Monitors all food items to see that at least the minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, and quality are upheld at all times.
- Ensures the proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes. Tastes and prepares food to determine quality.
- Maintains or exceeds standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
- Assists with orientation and training of new kitchen staff.
- Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
- Attends all in-services as required.
- Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
- Assists with proper documentation of temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules.
- Dependable and able to meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality) with no restrictions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in fine dining preferred. Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, associates and the overall community.
- Thoroughness & detail oriented.
- Goal- and result-oriented, as well as self-motivated.
- Sense of professional curiosity, desire to learn new things, and to find / recommend solutions to problems
- Great communication and interpersonal skills required along with the heart and passion to work with older adults while providing the best care possible.
- Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, to work well with many interruptions and have skill in multi-tasking.
- Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, employees and the overall facility.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
