Dietary Care Assistant (Evenings)

Fairview Care Center is seeking a fun and compassionate individual to join our Nursing Department as a Dietary Care Assistant.

We are currently hiring for Part Time Evening Dietary Care Assistant (Feeding Assistant). Evening shift hours are 2pm-9pm/4pm-9pm. Hours can be flexible dependent on the need.

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older to apply.

Job Purpose: Under limited supervision, performs a variety of non-certified care duties so that the physical and medical needs of the residents are met; performs related work as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Addresses the immediate physical needs of facility residents so those facility goals for long-term care are upheld, by feeding, and transporting wheelchair residents back to their room. If documented training is obtained, may help with residents needing to walk back to their room or elsewhere in the facility.

· Protects residents so that resident safety needs are met by implementing standard safety procedures, preventing self-injury, and preventing residents from unauthorized leave of the facility premises.

· Addresses the personal needs of facility residents so that facility goals for long-term care are upheld by feeding and documenting how much was eaten/drank.

· Performs stocking of nursing and kitchen supplies as needed.

· Passes waters according to schedule.

Job Requirements: Abides by principles and procedures of feeding assistance as prescribed by facility-policy and supervising personnel. Practical human relations as it relates to feeding assistance. Commitment to the Work Group, Commitment to Customer Service, Effective communication, Productivity and Work Organization.

Minimum Qualifications: Feeding training required. Must complete a MN Department of Human Services Criminal Background Check and be certified by the Department as employable as a Nursing Home Employee. Any offer of employment is conditional until receipt of the Background Study Clearance.
