POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the cook in charge in assembling patient trays, general cleaning, dishwashing, restocking supplies and cleaning tables and shelves as directed
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience desirable, but not a requirement.
- Must be mentally alert.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to accurately measure food ingredients and portions.
- Knowledge of basic principles of quantity food cooking and equipment use.
- Clean and appropriately groomed.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitor, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must not pose a direct threat to safety and health of other individuals in the workplace
POSITION SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- Set up patient trays with silverware and paper products.
- Gather cold food items for patient trays for breakfast and lunch.
- Help put senior cold packs together.
- Assemble patient trays.
- Check of trays for ticket and tray accuracy.
- Take trays to proper stations.
- Make green salads and fruit bowls for staff on front tray line or for any caterings.
- Put senior desserts together for the next day.
- Put senior hot packs away.
- Check sandwich station and replenish anything that needs to be re-stocked.
- Check what desserts or cold items need to be made for next day’s service.
- Prep cold items (fruit, desserts, etc.) for next day.
- Serve customers at the cafeteria window.
- Complete cleaning assignments or general cleaning.
- Floor stocks to be completed as they come in.
- Put away dry storage delivery if it arrives before shift ends.
- Clean shelves with raw and ready-to-cool food.
- Help the kitchen staff with as needed.
- All other duties assigned
