C & B Equipment is a progressive family-owned company that has grown over 30 years to include John Deere Ag, material handling and power sports locations. We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals that have a strong desire to become a certified John Deere Diesel Technician.
The C & B Ag Diesel Apprenticeship is a unique opportunity for mechanically minded individuals to gain an advanced knowledge of Ag Diesel Technology without the traditional technical school format or expense.
Candidates who are accepted into the program will gain paid full-time employment at one of our 5 Iowa locations and be paid for both their training and working time. Individuals must commit to a rigorous 12-month training schedule comprised of (1) personal instruction through John Deere University online courses, (2) concentrated instructor-led training and (3) competency based on the job learning. Occasional travel and overnight stays are required to access critical training resources and to accommodate the accelerated pace of instruction. Upon demonstration of all required competencies, apprentices will receive a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Ag Diesel Technology.
C & B offers a progressive pay schedule where you will receive compensation increases as you complete program competencies, immediate eligibility to a comprehensive fringe benefits package, uniforms and tool allowances.
Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a strong desire to become a Diesel Technician, availability to work full time and a great work ethic. Preferred qualifications include a mechanical background, experience in the agricultural industry and working on John Deere products.
