Job Description
- Oversee, develop, and edit content for print and digital materials that strengthen the Kheir brand, including e-blasts, videos, social media, flyers, reports, fact sheets, website, etc.
- Oversee press release creation and distribution to ensure consistent messaging and successful media events.
- Manage public relations initiatives and programs to increase Kheir’s visibility, promote collaboration and partnership, and engage new and existing supporters.
- Develop a comprehensive, strategic fundraising plan with specific, measurable goals that will enable Kheir to meet its current budget forecast and future goals; oversee implementation of that plan (initial annual target of $1.5 Million Non-Federal funds awarded).
- Establish a development plan, priorities, deliverables and timeline.
- Initiate, oversee and implement minor and major fundraising activities, including preparation of high-quality proposals, grant reports, major donor cultivation and annual fundraising events.
- Maintain latest knowledge of healthcare issues & serve as an in-house policy expert, educator & advisor.
- Initiate, cultivate and steward relationships with the organization’s portfolio of individual, foundation and corporate supporters.
- Strategically leverage the time and connections of the CEO and other senior leaders to support targeted fundraising efforts, including developing the capacity of the Board to execute against development goals.
- Attend special events & serve as a key spokesperson for the organization.
- Oversee all aspects of development from concept design to record-keeping.
- Serve as agency liaison for Kheir’s Board of Directors, and support meeting coordination and other Board engagement efforts.
- Manage Kheir’s section 330 Community Health Center grants, collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, and submit reports and other documents as requested by HRSA.
- Assist with writing PR material, including annual reports & newsletters.
- 5+ years direct fundraising, program design, and grant-writing experience at management level.
- Track record of building and leading the development function in fast-paced, entrepreneurial nonprofit organizations
- Substantial experience designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising plans for diverse funding streams including corporate, and foundation giving, with a track record and experience of significantly growing revenues over time.
- Ability to interact and work collaboratively with all levels of management, personnel, and voluntary boards.
- Demonstrated ability to network to build creative and mutually beneficial partnerships within the nonprofit, public and corporate sectors.
- Significant organizational and management skills including team building, staff supervision and development; ability to manage colleagues, senior management and Board members to achieve fundraising goals.
- Experience managing contract and proposal deadlines with attention to details.
- Knowledge of fundraising information sources, research techniques, data management and evaluation.
- Track record of creating and implementing innovative solutions to meet pressing development needs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to develop program budgets and pro forma with minimal guidance.
- Strong organizational skills, with outstanding attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree highly preferred.
