Kids Alive International is a Christian organization serving vulnerable at-risk children in multiple countries across the globe.
The Development Assistant assists Kids Alive International’s (KAI) major gifts team by overseeing all administrative processes that support major donors and regional events. This role prepares progress reports, drafts donor proposals, tracks contributions, and leads regional event planning. This position assists in strengthening relationships with donors, researches and identifies funding opportunities, and promotes the organization’s mission and values to external stakeholders.
As our Development Assistant, you will:
- Lead event planning for in-region events with guidance from Project Manager
- Assist with meeting scheduling, preparation, note-taking, and follow-up
- Manage updates to constituent database and mailing lists
- Draft, proofread, and/or edit correspondence, such as funding agreements, donor letters, and gift proposals
- Prepare progress reports
- Assists prospect researcher by adding contact, biographical and anecdotal information to constituent database
- Strengthen relationships with donors via phone calls, emails, and sharing social media posts
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to produce donor messaging
A successful Development Assistantwill also bring:
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or related field preferred
- 2+ years' experience related to office administrative support, development, project management, or event coordination
- 2+ years’ experience in development
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to effectively prioritize
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated team player with strong collaboration abilities
- High personal and professional integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality
- High interpersonal awareness and emotional intelligence
- Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business collaboration tools
- Fluency in English reading, writing, speaking, and listening
