As a User Experience Designer in the Developer Experience organization, you will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape the future of Apple platform development. You will design engineering tools used by the Apple Software Engineering organization and millions of developers around the world! Our Human Interface design team is looking for an experienced multifaceted contributor with a keen eye for user-focused experience design and an understanding of technical process and tools. The team works cross-functionally with engineering to develop solutions to complex technical problems, define workflows and user interactions, and create beautiful UI for Xcode and other Developer Tools. You will primarily design for macOS and web (with opportunities to work on iOS, visionOS and more) appropriately leveraging and developing system patterns in each domain. Our team cares deeply about building an experience that elegantly solves intricate workflows with the finesse of Apple’s design principles. This position provides a unique opportunity to create new UX patterns to solve problems for all Apple developers, design clean interfaces to apply those patterns, interact with a vast set of amazing engineers and apply technical domain expertise. We’re a team who are comfortable rapidly iterating on feedback, define product direction and positioning, have precise attention to detail, and an exquisite design aesthetic - we’re looking for a like-minded individual to join us!

DESCRIPTION
Work closely with engineering teams to understand goals and technical requirements and work collaboratively to define the product. Play a key role in defining design priorities and product direction. Use Sketch or similar software to draw mockups, build prototypes and produce design specs. Apply, adapt, or develop design patterns and styles to solve new problems and create unique UX solutions for rapidly evolving products. Pay close attention to detail to create pixel-precise designs and address detailed edge cases of the User Experience. Advocate for users, accessibility and standardizing of design patterns to create unified experiences. Drive projects independently while also collaborating with the team to give and receive attentive design feedback. Pitch and present your ideas to other designers, cross-functional teams and leadership. Interpret feedback from all levels and integrate it appropriately into your designs. Adapt to changing scope, requirements and limitations while features are being developed. Have a profound impact on Apple’s software by creating beautiful and intuitive tools that enable software engineers to develop, test and ensure quality code.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction or equivalent experience.
