As Developer Programmer Lead you are responsible to analyze, design, develop, test, and implement cost-effective software solutions and applications in support of the AmeriHealth Caritas organization. Troubleshoot and solve design & coding problems. Interpret Business/Functional Requirements in the delivery of software solutions meeting or exceeding client expectations. Directly interface with Senior Programmer/Analysts, Business Systems Analysts, Business Analysts, Management, and business clients to understand AmeriHealth Caritas business needs and design effective solutions.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead high level solution activities based on approved business requirements
  • Participate & contribute in Detail Design Session & Code Reviews.
  • Design, Develop, code and test programs from specifications, working independently.
  • Provide support and participate in development process re-engineering opportunities through the lens of FACETS configuration and functionality.
  • Responsible for technical systems design of new applications/systems and architecture.
  • Translate business, technical & FACETS requirements into well-engineered, tested and deployed business applications systems. Solution may include new code construction, modifications to existing modules and / or package configuration and implementation.
  • Ensure that all high-level solution documentation is prepared, reviewed and approved by business stakeholders.
  • Maintains awareness of information security requirements and scalability issues during design and development.
  • Collaborate with configuration, operations, product, network, and technology teams to define and develop solutions that are scalable and reusable across the organization.
  • Interfaces with business analysts, project managers and clients to clarify requirements.
  • Engage with customers and other IT Colleagues to determine the most efficient and cost-effective approach to meet business requirements.
  • Leads technical meetings & escalate issues, as required
  • Contributes to feasibility analysis, resource and cost estimations of new systems & resources.
  • Assists other team members with their assignments (e.g., onboarding junior team members).
  • Provides first/second level troubleshooting and technical and operational support with limited guidance.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 4 years of experience required.
  • At least 10 years of IT experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • 6 years of SDLC experience
  • Five (5) years of programming experience in MS SQL Server and .Net technologies
  • Four (4) years of experience in Core FACETS product ver 5.0 and above with Members, Providers and/or Benefits, Workflow.
  • Three (3) years of experience of ETL tools such as SSIS, DataStage.
  • Three (3) year of healthcare experience.
  • Design and develop Facets membership applications using SQL Server or Oracle or Sybase
  • Possesses an understanding of application development methods (e.g. agile, waterfall), as well as the fundamentals of requirements specification, design, development and testing of business applications systems.
  • Exhibits an understanding of the technical architecture, application landscape and IT environment, as well as tools used in development, deployment, and testing.
  • Understands the structure and processes of the IT organization, including the roles of IT team members and the information and/or resources they may require.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare experience with Medicaid, Medicare and Exchange Products is preferred
  • Hands on experience within an Agile and/or Waterfall environment
  • Understands the structure and processes of the IT organization, including the roles of IT team members and the information and/or resources they may require.
  • Good understanding about the structure and significance of key HIPAA X12 EDI transactions like 834, 270/271.
  • Experience with Facets data model, batch jobs, and extension programming
  • Trizetto Elements EAM, FACETS experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Project Lead (or) Solution Architect
  • Multiple real-world experiences on large business process or systems integration projects as either an employee or consultant
  • Unix script & Tidal experience is preferred
