Position Title: Development and Engagement Specialist
Reports to: Executive Director
Classification: Non-exempt 20-24 hours a week
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

What You Will Do:
Girls on the Run Greater Kalamazoo is seeking a talented, self-directed strategic Development and
Engagement specialist who manages grants, online giving, and donor database for the organization and leads major gifts fundraising efforts with the support of the Leadership Team. This person in this role is also charged with identifying and securing major funding sources, managing foundation relationships, and supporting donor development activities, including annual giving campaign. This job is suited for someone that is passionate about people, results, enjoys analyzing data for performance strategy, follows current trends, and cultivates constituents for strategic alignment and Engagement.

Grants and Foundations: Identify and manage grant opportunities including creating and nurturing foundation relationships. Researches and writes grant submissions and manages the grant reporting process across the organization.
Local, Regional and Government Funding: Identify and pursue opportunities to secure funding from governmental sources to support and further the mission of Girls on Run Greater Kalamazoo.
Online Giving: Manage and grow online giving platform to diversify donor base and individual giving.
Organizational Partners: Develop relationships with organizational partnerships to develop joint proposals and share expertise to assist in securing grants and sponsorships.
Other: Develop and manage budget for all programmatic activities, partnerships, and sponsorships.
Attend networking events and develop/execute direct/email campaign (s).
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, communications, or journalism
- Experience with Proposal Central software a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Program budget preparation and management.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively promote programs.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse set of people, including staff, partners, clients, and board members.
- Ability to effectively project manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and highly organized.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce and other organizational software systems.
- Proficiency in gathering, interpreting and analyzing diverse data.

Physical Demands
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift 10 - 20 pounds if needed for special events.

Compensation and Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9am – 3pm (6-hour shifts). $20-23/hr.
