Desktop Support Technician
Become a part of the Brandywine Counseling and Community Services (BCCS) team as a Desktop Support Technician. The Desktop Support Technician role provides first-level technical support to employees, responding to Help Desk tickets and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. This is an onsite position primarily rotating between Georgetown, Milford, and Dover offices, with occasional travel to Wilmington and Newark offices. This is a Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm shift with occasional off-hours and weekend hours.

  3. CompTIA Security+ certification

About the Desktop Support Technician role
The Desktop Support Technician role provides first-level technical support to employees, responding to Help Desk tickets and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. This is an onsite position primarily rotating between Georgetown, Milford, and Dover locations. Occasional travel to Wilmington and Newark may be required as needed. The role also requires end-user support operating through the internal IT Help Desk with occasional off-hours support.
Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and customer interactions using the Help Desk ticketing system.
  • Provide Desktop Support; Install and configure software applications, operating systems, and peripherals.
  • Provide end user application support.
  • Troubleshoot basic networking issues.
  • Provide cloud platform and application support, including managing user accounts, groups, and licenses.
  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on the use of hardware, software, and other technology resources.
  • Support the maintenance of IT documentation, including user guides, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT devices and assets.
  • Order hardware as needed to support business needs.
  • Contribute to IT projects.
  • To perform other duties as assigned by Information Technology and Security Director

Technical Abilities
  • Windows desktop troubleshooting and support
    • Application installation and removal
    • Connecting Windows and mobile devices to wired and wireless networks
    • Computer setups - docking stations, dual monitors, peripherals.
    • Windows configurations
    • Windows troubleshooting
  • Printer troubleshooting
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Azure / Microsoft 365 a plus
  • Basic Network troubleshooting skills

Non-Technical Abilities
  • Hard working to get tasks and assignments completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to take ownership and work independently on assignments as well as work as part of team.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate technical issues effectively.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Available to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Qualifications for the position
  • High School Diploma
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Must have a passion for IT, with a strong work ethic.

Location
  • Technician will be traveling to all downstate locations (Georgetown, Milford and Dover)

Salary
  • $40,000 - commensurate based on experience and education!

Schedule
  • 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
