Description:
One of TEKsystems's customers, a leader in their respective industry and headquartered in Birmingham, is looking for a Desktop Services Technician to work in the company's headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
Responsibilities:
Assist our overseas service team lead in overseeing and supporting all project operations
Perform break/fix (Support Desk) remediation for the I.T. team
Make sure our break/fix service level agreements (SLA’s) are met, half business day for
normal events
Make sure our Birmingham new user deployment SLA’s are met
Create accounts/email addresses for the International Group’s overseas users
Provide feedback and suggestions from the field to assist management in making
possible future operational process amendments
Assist in the International Group’s phone system management (WebEx)
Assist in the International Group’s mobile phone management (Meraki/Verizon)
Assist in equipment procurement and life cycle process
Assist in inventory management and documentation
Assist in special projects and disaster remediation
Printer Management: responsible for basic troubleshooting, replacing consumables, and
coordinating 3rd party technicians when necessary for the International Group’s home office
fleet of printers and plotters
Assist in the process and documentation revision process
Assist in new project deployments including international travel to the project location
Perform maintenance standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for various systems including
various Server 2016/2019 tasks
Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the United States government
Ability to maintain a current and valid United States passport
Ability to travel intermittently to support international project sites
Strong Microsoft Office skills focusing on Excel and Outlook
1-5 years professional experience in the I.T. field, strong preference in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
Expanded availability to meet deliverables outside of normal business hours
Strong at the following skills: Communication, time management, prioritization, and learning
Ability to work: in a team or individually, and perform tasks without micro-management

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
This position is generally 8-5, Monday through Friday, with occasional after hours work, but minimal. They do want everyone to be able to do an international trip for 2 weeks out of the year (and potentially 4 weeks per year, if desired. The ability to get a passport and security clearance are required, but not pre-requisites.
