Medtronic's Memphis Manufacturing facility is looking for an experienced Design Technician. This new position will support the Medtronic Mission for unsurpassed quality and reliability in our medical devices by being a key technical contributor for a new manufacturing line focused on metal machining, bending, and metal finishing processes. Working within the Cranial & Spinal Technologies operating unit, this role will provide manufacturing with all drawings and models required for the production line based on design inputs specific for each patient so that we can help improve their quality of life.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Participates as a team member to manufacturer patient specific spinal implants
- Takes spinal implant designs and creates all applicable manufacturing drawings and models required for the production line
- Serves in a pivotal role in maintaining a very fast (2-3 days) manufacturing throughput
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools, such as CAD, CAM, CATIA, ProEngineer, Solidworx or Siemens NX Software.
- Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
- High School Diploma or GED with 0+ years of experience required
Nice to Have
- 1+ Years of relevant experience
- Experience in medical device manufacturing
- Experience in manufacturing associated with metal forming/ finishing
- Proficient with Solidworks
- Familiar with these regulations: FDA 21 CFR Part 820 cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10012, and ISO 17025
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Windows OS
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing techniques interpreting blueprints

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
