Job Description
Summary/objective
The Design Specialist works directly with home buyers, agents to manage the design of the homes per regional standards & specifications, through all phases of the home building process. This position works alongside Pahlisch Select Regional Management team(s), Sales, Production, and Purchasing Teams.

- Serve as a liaison between Pahlisch Select and our clients utilizing company core values, play book initiatives, and branding focus.
- Manage and review Pahlisch Select specifications with each buyer.
- Manage Design meetings with each buyer.
- Manage Hard Surface selection meetings with each buyer.
- Assist with design and staging of model homes-Tour Homes-Street of Dreams ETC.
- Assist in the selection of design, organization/administration and the maintaining of products per company standards.
- Follow all standards and specifications within designated region.
- Manage and update standards, materials and online studios daily/weekly/monthly and annually.
- Manage designated design collections for agents and communities as required for buyer tools and prompts.
- Manage, update, and distribute all design addendums, start addendums and change orders for each home within the regional communities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4+ years customer service experience, preferred
- 2+ years of new construction design preferred.
- Bachelor Degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combined years of experience
- Experience in design concepts within new residential construction preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent design and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills with advanced understanding of Excel, Adobe and Foxit.
- Ability to take direction, meet timelines and successfully work on a multitude of projects at one time.
- Adaptable to fast paced work environment with repetitive projects.
- Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity both in and out of work environment.
- Reliable transportation; travel is required.
- Ability to work extended hours, nights and weekends, as needed.
Supervisory responsibilities
No supervisory duties required for this position.
Work environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job regularly requires access to homes in various building phases.
Physical demands
This position must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. This person in this position needs to occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, copiers, scanners, etc. This person in this position constantly operates a computer, copier and design samples such as tile, hardwoods, paint, carpet, cabinets and all other items pertaining to the design horizon. 25% of this position may be physical in nature to transport design materials, design boards, and other design related product to and from. This position must be able to frequently communicate with vendors and colleagues via email and phone.
Travel required
Moderate travel is expected for this position with occasional overnight stays within other regions.
