Design Release Engineer

The Design Release Engineer will coordinate the activities of product design from conception to industrialization, within the objectives of cost, quality and deadlines. Be in accordance with company strategy plan, assure interface with the customer and monitor the entire project team. Define specifications and guidelines for product performance.

• Design Verification: Collaborate with design engineers to review and validate product designs, ensuring they are manufacturable and meet performance specifications.
• Release Process Management: Oversee the release process of engineering designs, making sure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Create, maintain, and update BOMs, incorporating changes and revisions as required.
• Quality Control: Implement quality control procedures to ensure that products meet regulatory and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to resolve design-related issues and streamline the release process.
• Participate in product development phase with customers, act as a technical contact with customer during the scheduled meetings.
• Change Control: Manage engineering change requests and maintain accurate records of design changes.
• Prototype Testing: Coordinate and oversee prototype testing and validation to identify and address any design flaws.
• Cost Optimization: Seek opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce production costs without compromising product quality.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all design changes, release activities, and project timelines.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in the Design Release process and develop mitigation plans.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product engineering area

Desired Skills:

• Know-how of transportation seating products and components: metal structures, seat mechanisms, foam, trim covers, restraint systems, etc. and their industrialization processes.
• Know-how of transportation area and quality tools, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, etc.
• Ability to use Autodesk Inventor, store/read data form Autodesk Vault
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of changing situations
• Ability to work under pressure and time limitations to meet multiple deadlines and initiate corrective changes
• Excellent communication and organization skills. Works independently.
