Design Engineer, Ev Mechanical

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assess project requirements such as technical challenges, engineering hours, risk assessment, etc.
• Ensure designs meet FMVSS, State, and customer requirements.
• Define or assist in definition of electrical system and component specifications.
• Produce and implement designs, drawings, and test documentation.
• Review all mechanical designs to ensure they are safe, robust, and efficient.
• Focus on cost reductions and able to control project and testing costs.
• Interact with system and component suppliers.
• Communicate with internal cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Management, etc.)
• Manage multiple projects and strive for on-time completion of deliverables.
• Writing engineering reports and specification.
• Providing technical advice and troubleshooting support.
• Analyzing and interpreting engineering test data.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Individual must me be technically minded, and able to manage projects and assigned objective to completion.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Design Engineer in a relevant automotive or truck environment required. Prior experience with electric vehicles is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral technical communication skills.
