ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assess project requirements such as technical challenges, engineering hours, risk assessment, etc.
- Ensure designs meet FMVSS, State, and customer requirements.
- Define or assist in definition of electrical system and component specifications.
- Produce and implement designs, drawings, and test documentation.
- Review all mechanical designs to ensure they are safe, robust, and efficient.
- Focus on cost reductions and able to control project and testing costs.
- Interact with system and component suppliers.
- Communicate with internal cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Management, etc.)
- Manage multiple projects and strive for on-time completion of deliverables.
- Writing engineering reports and specification.
- Providing technical advice and troubleshooting support.
- Analyzing and interpreting engineering test data.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Individual must me be technically minded, and able to manage projects and assigned objective to completion.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Design Engineer in a relevant automotive or truck environment required. Prior experience with electric vehicles is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral technical communication skills.
