As the Cellular Therapy Lab Manager plans, directs and coordinates the operations of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory, manages personnel activities in the department and is accountable for cost control, staffing, quality control, quality assurance, supply and instrument acquisition. Working with the facility medical director and CTL Director develops all policies and procedures and ensures the laboratory is in compliance with standards and good manufacturing processes for quality control, equipment, records, and products as directed by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act (CLIA), The Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  

What you will do In This Role:

  • Manages all interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, evaluates performance, personnel actions, provides feedback, and has the authority to hire and fire staff. Responsible for overall employee engagement within the department and for their output and conduct and has the authority to hire and fire staff.   • Understands laboratory methods, demonstrates knowledge of pathological processes with correlation of disease states and test results. Oversees all phases of Cellular Therapy processing. Reviews and analyzes section activities and IT/LIS and maintained databases to improve operations, and utilization of services.

  • Assures compliance with standards set forth by accrediting agencies as applicable: FACT, FDA, CAP, TJC, CLIA, and CMS. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Section, and verifies annual review of all policies and procedures. 

  • Responsible for developing the budget and financial operations of the department. Monitors expenditures and justifies significant variances; reports on financial performance; billable procedures, productivity, operating expenses and labor utilization such as overtime. Anticipates, evaluates the need for and recommends new methods, instrumentation or technology for the Section  

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  •   Education: Baccalaureate degree is required. 

  •   Experience: 5-10 years Clinical Laboratory and/or Cell Therapy processing Previous Supervisory experience
