Mechanical Design Engineer - Level 3We are Lockheed Martin
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in seeking a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer in Marietta, Georgia. A successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft mechanisms design problems. Responsibilities for this position may include:
- Development, test, and validation of Mechanical Designs.
- Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structure with 3-D models, assemblies, and installations.
- Creation and/or modification of system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures, statements of work, trade studies, and component/ground/flight test plans.
- Technical engineering support for manufacturing, installation, and testing at Lockheed Martin and external supplier facilities.
- Design, develop, and finalization of structural and mechanical layouts with systems interfaces.
- Assisting Program Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customers with all mechanism related issues for in flight and ground operations.

This position is in Marietta, GA Discover Marietta.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical; Civil Engineers will also be considered
- Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
Desired Skills:
- Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
- Experience with metallic and composite design
- Experience with Mechanisms Design to include the usage of Kinematics and Rigging Procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position:
