Design Engineer

ProEnclosures is looking for an experienced, creative Design Engineerto join our expanding new team in historic Milton, KY. We are focused on dominating the fork truck enclosure market and have created a partnership with the leader in polycarbonate coating and distribution. With your drive, impeccable design skills, and diligence, you can grow with our exciting business from the ground floor up.

This role will be responsible for the full design of new products and concepts and the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and analyze layouts, components, and detail drawings for new products and concepts.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all CAD work and maintain well organized records; utilize 3D modeling software to produce new 3D models and drawings, and drawings of revised designs.
• Work with our global automotive customers to design products with excellent fit, form, and function.
• Work closely with ownership to create appropriate test and validation plans for new products.
• Participate in market research to determine market needs and develop products to meet those needs, with an eye on future market trends.
• Help establish engineering systems and structures to support a growing business.
• Set the tone for excellence in design, customer collaboration, and a winning culture.

Education and Experience

• Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D modeling required: Specifically, sheet metal, tubing, weldments, assemblies, drawings. This is 90% of the position.
• 3+ years Design Engineering experience in the workplace preferred.
• Experience using SolidWorks PD.
• Must have familiarity with metal fabrication, machining, and prior shop floor experience.
• Prior manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• DezignWorks experience preferred.
• Prior experience working with CMM Arms preferred. We use a Romer Arm.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Highly motivated, self-directed. Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Ability to prioritize work, balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
