Position Overview
The Assistant Designer, Men's Polo Knits will assist in the daily functions of the Men's Polo parent line, Polo Factory Stores, and Boys Knits design departments from the initial concepts, research and development, through line completion and stock.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and execute Polo concept models in partnership with the Sr. Director.
- Market research - competitive shopping, internet research, new trends.
- CADS - line sheets, stats, flat sketches, artwork/layouts, trims
- Communicate and collaborate with cross functional partners.
- Partner w/Print Team and develop any conceptual prints & CAD for presentation.
- Daily communication with Product Development team
- Close collaboration w/merchandising partners for design, color, cost, market adoption and post market adds/drops.
- Close partnership w/PD making sure all Tech Packs are handed off, proof read & accurate.
- Attend fittings to help maintain design aesthetic and fit.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- Strong Creative Suite knowledge - Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Reader, PowerPoint
- Microsoft Excel - Outlook, Excel, Word
- PLM
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Clear communication
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Experience working in design
