GEO (Greater Education Opportunities) Foundation has radically altered the trajectory of impoverished students to succeed in college and career while still in high school. We help our students earn real college degrees and career certifications while in high school; thus we improve college completion rates. And we eliminate college debt by paying for all college expenses for our students, including tuition, textbooks, transportation, academic and social supports. GEO Foundation supports a network of eight GEO Academies in Gary and Indianapolis, Indiana and Baton Rouge, Louisiana that serve 4,100 predominantly African-American and low-income students. Our results are unparalleled. Our Indiana students beat the state average in earning high-quality college and career credentials by nine times the state average for their demographic. Our Baton Rouge school produced the first students in the history of Baton Rouge to earn a full associate degree while in high school in 2023. Our model is innovative. Our model is sustainable. Our model gets results. Our model is replicable, too. We are in Gary, Indianapolis, and Baton Rouge. GEO Foundation, a leader in educational excellence for K-16 students, seeks a highly skilled and experienced financial leader to join our administrative team. The DCFO will be responsible for supporting the CFO in planning and executing all financial aspects of our Louisiana network of charter schools, including (but not limited to) budgeting, grant planning and management, financial reporting, and expense management. This role requires a deep understanding of financial management within the Louisiana education sector and a commitment to the GEO Academies mission and values. Reports to: CFO Location: Louisiana (hybrid and work-from-home placement available). Some light travel is required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Serve as Deputy Chief Financial Officer/Business Manager for all GEO Academies Louisiana schools as outlined in La. Admin. Code tit. 28 __ XLI-1301. Coordinate with CFO and academic leadership to develop and monitor annual budgets for all schools that support both fiscal accountability and academic achievement in conformance with the GEO Academies Model. Specifically (but not limited to): Develop revenue projections for all relevant state, local, and philanthropic funds in conformance with Louisiana State Statutes and GAAP Accounting requirements. Write, submit, and monitor all federal grants through the Louisiana EGMS system to support academic objectives as developed in the annual budget. Develop corresponding expense projections (including, but not limited to, staffing model, operational expenses, academic support expenses) to support academic achievement in conformance with the mission of the GEO Academies Model. Present annual budgets for approval to charter school board and related committees as appropriate. Meet all relevant deadlines for budget development and ongoing monitoring submissions to the Louisiana Department of Education, as required by Louisiana State Statute. Present financial reports to charter school board on a quarterly basis (minimum). Continually monitor all revenue and expenses against budget and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary. Review (and approve as appropriate) all expense requests in conformance with the approved budget, including, but not limited to, hiring and staffing, operational expenses, and academic support expenses. Oversee operation of all school Extra Curricular Accounts REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA certification strongly preferred Business Officer certification through the Louisiana Association of School Business Officials Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience in Louisiana educational sector Strong knowledge of Louisiana financial systems and reporting tools Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Leadership, teamwork, and mentoring skills PI2ae19820d909-25660-33689282
