GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Perform multiple job functions at a high level within the Department and provide exceptional member service. Communicate professionally with members, Golden 1 staff, government agencies, and other outside agencies. Prepare legal documents and respond to member requests. Perform account maintenance processes. 

 

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepare and process levies, garnishments, district attorney and immigration letters for processing. 
  2. Process and maintain three or more of the following areas: zero balance accounts, proxies, privacy Opt Out notices, non-resident alien accounts, foreign account reports, safe deposit box report, dormant and escheatable requests, VOD deposits and member rating requests, photocopies from various systems and applications, specialty accounts, research request, B-Notices, Social Security, address changes, trusts, deceased accounts, subpoenas, medallion stamps.
  3. Post required fees to member accounts, and balance credits/debits at the end of each day.
  4. Handles general inquiries and questions from members and process B-Notice's through account completion. 
  5. Gather and prepare Daily Teller work for balancing.
  6. Prepare and index documents for scanning.
  7. Maintain strict confidentiality on member account transactions and credit union information. 
  8. Create and maintain a safe and clean working environment. 
  9. Notify management immediately regarding any member concerns or errors.
  10. Actively support company goals and initiatives.
  11. Works under general to little supervision.
  12. Meet production deadlines daily while cognizant with quality and quantity in a fast-paced environment. 
  13. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
  14. Assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned. 


PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to interact with internal and external contacts. 
  2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment. 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS

  1. INTERNAL:  Peers in other departments (branches, Contact Center, etc.) to discuss routine information. May periodically interact with senior leadership in Service Operations.
  2. EXTERNAL: Members, government agencies, other outside agencies, law enforcement, and attorneys. Public Administrators.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. EDUCATION: Successful completion of High School curriculum is required.
  2. EXPERIENCE: One year or more experience at a financial institution or similar experience in a related position.
  3. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: 

Functional:

  • Intermediate knowledge in the following areas: Federal Rules and Regulations as applied to credit unions, G1 Products (Awareness), Knowledge Base (G1 Policies and Procedures), Customer service, FACTA, BSA, Elder Abuse, UDAAP, Security Awareness.

Technical:

  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) DSUI/TNav, Enact, ECM, Ensenta, OSI, Fiserv/CWS and department specific systems and applications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. 
  2. Corrected vision within the normal range. 
  3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. 
  4. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc. 
  5. Must be able to work for long periods without being a safety or health risk to self or others. 
  6. Heavy telephone contact with members, beneficiaries, attorneys, and government agencies, etc.
