Stoltzfus Meats sells fine, fresh, home-style foods. We have an opening for a FT Department Supervisor position to work alongside and oversee the Cure department, which includes mixing seasonings, trimming pork bellies, using an injection machine, making scrapple, and sanitizing equipment/supplies. Stoltzfus Meats maintains a drug-free workplace, and conducts pre-employment drug screening (includes marijuana) for all team members.

Meat Processor Qualifications:
- Must be age 18+ to operate equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and twist during entire shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work in a cooled environment (approx. 40 deg F / 4.4 deg C) most of the time; some operations involving cooking in warmer settings
- Reliable transportation; plant is located within walking distance of Red Rose Transit Route 13 (Whitehorse)
- Good time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Knowledgeable of, or willing to learn, food safety procedures

Cure Supervisor Responsibilities:
This is a working supervisor position, and will contribute to the team by performing the necessary work alongside department members, such as:
- Manually manipulating and trimming pork bellies
- Mixing seasonings for rubs and brines
- Operating injection equipment and tumblers
- Placing hams into netting
- Cooking and packaging scrapple (warm temperature environment)
- Maintain and monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Assist with sanitation area, responsible for cleaning and sanitizing supplies and equipment from all departments in the facility
- Adhere to company, USDA, HACCP, and SQF food handling and sanitation protocols
- Follow all safety guidelines as trained, relating to all aspects of food handling, hygiene, and equipment safety
- Participate in daily equipment cleaning between product production runs and end of day
- Potential to cross train in packaging department (sort product, vacuum seal, label, package into storage/shipping boxes) and meat process department (create and season ground product, operate stuffing equipment, operating etc)
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory responsibilities include:
- Set up and assign daily tasks, monitor production and oversee team members throughout the shift
- Complete reports and logs related to production needs and processes
- Train and teach new team members, as well as new processes or equipment to current team members
- Coordinate with other Department Supervisors
- Monitor and uphold food handling, hygiene, and safety standards as defined by company policy, USDA, HACCP, and SQF guidelines

Cure Supervisor Schedule & Benefits:
- FT schedule: Mondays - Fridays from 6:00 am - approximately 3:30 pm
- Part of off-hours Smokehouse team that pulls or rotates product after hours and over weekends; bonus pay provided per occurrence
- Overtime may be available at certain times of year during high production volume
- No regular late nights, and no regular weekends!
