We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Dental Receptionist to join our team. The Dental Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, handling inquiries, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth flow of administrative operations within the dental office. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach.
- Greeting Patients: Welcome patients with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage the appointment calendar efficiently, schedule patient appointments, and follow up on appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Patient Registration: Collect and verify patient information accurately, including insurance details and medical history forms.
- Billing and Payments: Process patient payments, handle insurance claims, and assist with billing inquiries. Ensure accuracy in financial transactions and maintain patient accounts.
- Answering Inquiries: Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries, concerns, and requests, both in person and via telephone or email.
- Maintaining Records: Organize and maintain patient records and files in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information.
- Office Administration: Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies. Collaborate with dental staff to ensure the smooth operation of the front office.
- Insurance Coordination: Verify patient insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and communicate with insurance providers as needed to resolve any issues.
- Patient Education: Provide basic information to patients regarding dental procedures, treatments, and post-operative care instructions.
- Appointment Reminders: Contact patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and assist with rescheduling as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in office administration or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience working in a dental or medical office setting preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with dental professionals and support staff.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to assist with various tasks as needed.
Working Conditions:
The Dental Receptionist will primarily work in a dental office environment, interacting with patients, dental professionals, and support staff. The position may involve sitting or standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of office supplies or files. Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate patient schedules, including evenings or weekends.
