```Duties```
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, and applying fluoride treatments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and medical history in electronic health records (Epic)
- Follow aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards in the dental office
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments and managing the dental office systems
```Skills```
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including CAD software for designing dental restorations and medical coding for billing purposes
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to accurately document patient information in medical records
- Familiarity with taking vital signs and monitoring patient health during dental procedures
- Experience working in a dental office setting and familiarity with dental equipment and instruments
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique to prevent the spread of infections in the dental office
